Patagonia's Compadre
Compadre is a magnificent true black herdsire from strong black genetics. Born October 12, 1999, he is one of the best alpacas ever produced at Alpacas de la Patagonia. Now he is producing some of Patagonia's best cria and proving his prepotency.

He has stamped out in every cria his beautiful head, strong bone, solid conformation, great density & fineness, and extreme luster, hand, crimp & lock definition. Compadre also has extremely strong black color genetics. He has produced 100% black when bred to black. Twice when bred to grey, has produced grey. When bred to whites, fawns and browns, he has thrown black 41% of the time and so far has always produced cria darker than color of the dam. Combine these traits with his 8 lb shear wt, an adjusted spinning fineness of 18 microns at 2 years of age and it's clear that Compadre is a World Class Herd Sire. A must have in any breeding program.

Compadre has an exceptional genetic background. His Dam ( True Black ) was the best females at Alpacas de la Patagonia. His Sire, Caballero Andante, has been consistently producing some of the best Black alpacas in this country for years. This includes the AOBA Black Female Color Champion for 2002 & 2003 (different dams).
